Historic Preservation Planning
BlueLight provides historic preservation planning services for charitable projects involving historic or historically contributing properties and structures. Services include research support, stabilization, and preservation management. BlueLight also supports municipal historic preservation through representation on the City of Albany Historic Preservation Planning Committee. For public or municipal planning projects, BlueLight provides in-kind technical assistance and grant support.
Transportation Planning
BlueLight supports transportation planning with advisory services within the Capital Region of New York. Services include route planning, transit-oriented development planning, traffic analysis, and pedestrian planning. BlueLight also supports regional transportation planning through representation on the Capital District Transportation Planning Committee. For regional or municipal transportation planning projects, BlueLight provides in-kind technical assistance and grant support.
Municipal Planning
BlueLight provides in-kind technical assistance and grant support to municipal entities undertaking planning projects. Areas of specific focus include, neighborhood planning, capital investment planning, and program planning. Projects that do not fit under existing planning practice disciplines can be supported ad-hoc through BlueLight's strategic planning practice.

Charitable Purpose
BlueLight focuses exclusively on projects with charitable purposes. Charitable is used in its generally accepted legal sense and includes relief of the poor, the distressed, or the underprivileged; erecting or maintaining public buildings, monuments, or works; and combating community deterioration and juvenile delinquency.
